The question we probably get asked more than any other is, “How do I install Nextopia on my site?” In the interest of letting people know just how simple we’ve made this process, we are going to spotlight our Magento AJAX Extension. Setting up this tool is a process so simple that even the least technical among us could get it up and running.
After you’ve discussed your on-site search and navigation needs with your Account Representative and have signed up with Nextopia, you are introduced to our Integrations Department. After you provide us with a product feed, it’s time to install our extension.
Nextopia starts by providing you with a zip folder containing our software and some installation instructions. Once you’ve unzipped that file and uploaded the contents to your server root (*/html) you can then begin configuring the extension by following the simple steps in our configuration guide.
Configuring the extension starts with logging into your Magento Control panel, and then completing these steps:
1. Select ‘System’ from the top menu
2. Select ‘Configuration’ from the drop down
3. Select ‘Nextopia – Search Configuration Options’ from the left side navigation menu
4. Insert the Public Client ID that is provided, in the appropriate field
5. Set your subscription options to ‘True’
6. Set ‘Status’ to ‘Enabled’
If that doesn’t seem like a lot of steps it’s because it really isn’t. We make it fast and easy to get your site search up and running.
For those who wish to customize the software to match their specific requirements, Nextopia provides an advanced template editor built on .twig. This allows you to have full control over the look and feel of the search results.
